Declaration

If the scheme is a deferred annuity contract made on or after 6 April 2006 it is deemed to be a registered pension scheme and therefore does not need to go through the 'Register a new scheme' process. The Scheme Administrator is, however, required to make a declaration as the Scheme Administrator as required by Section 270 Finance Act 2004 (See the glossary in the Registered Pension Schemes Manual (RPSM) under 'Scheme Administrator').

When the Scheme Administrator makes the declaration, TPSS will create a record for the scheme. Instead of creating a section headed 'registration' it creates one headed 'declaration'. The original declaration can be viewed by selecting the 'view' link to the left of the date of declaration that created the record.
