Where pension credit rights were acquired before 6 April 2006 the enhancement to the lifetime allowance is the value of the pension credit (indexed) as a factor of the standard lifetime allowance for the tax year 2006-07. This is your 'pension credit factor'.

The acquiring of a pension credit occurs on the effective date of the pension sharing order. The effective date of a pension sharing order is the date on which the decree absolute or annulment is made, or if later, either 21 days from the date of the pension sharing order or the effective date of the order determining the appeal.
