Adopting a child from abroad

This is when an individual or couple who live in the United Kingdom adopts a child from another country and the child enters Great Britain or Northern Ireland to live with adoptive parents. The adoption does not involve the placement of the child for adoption under the law of any part of the United Kingdom.
