Chargeable person

The chargeable person is the person who disposes of the whole or part of the property, or interest in the property subject to the Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED). If the property was owned by a company it will be that company. If the property was owned by a partnership which included a company, it will be any company having an interest in the property as a member of the partnership. If the property was held for the purposes of a collective investment scheme the chargeable person will depend on the terms and nature of the scheme. For further guidance follow the link below.
