Description
The hydraulic power pack has been designed to be used with a 10t tensioner. The power pack is containerised within an outer shell of ductile cast iron. Contained within the unit is a single electric motor and pump set, overhead reservoir, electric motor starter panel and a HPU control panel. The single electric motor drives the three pumps from a common shaft. The main drive pump, which is an axial piston open loop pump, this pump operates in either a load sensing or a pressure control mode. There are various valves which are mounted to the framework, which are used for the pump control functions. The grip/brake pump is a tandem gear pump which uses a relief valve to limit output pressure from each pump section. The relief valves have vent able pilot lines fitted with ball valves for dumping pressure, while starting and stopping the electric motor. The seawater/oil cooler is used to dissipate any heat which may have built up within the system, the return flow from all of the three pumps goes back to the reservoir via the cooler. The starter panel contains all the necessary components for starting and stopping the electric motor, along with any power transformers that could be operating within the system. Also, there is a HPU control panel, this houses the plc, which is used to control the main drive pump functions, there is also a human machine interface (HMI) panel this is for in-putting the various control parameters.
