- Description
- An automatic watering system for an orchid plant pot. It is FDM 3D printed from PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) and PETG ( Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) and made up of two sections. The top section is where the plant is inserted, and the bottom stores water and has a small 12V pump attached. The pump is powered by a custom PCB that runs on a 9V battery and is magnetically attached to the side of the pot. The system functions by providing power to the pump. The water is pumped to the top section and soaks the orchid bark, then after a 2 minute timer the water drains back down. Once the battery is plugged in these cycles happen automatically and do not require human intervention. It is packaged wrapped in bubble wrap and paper wrap which then goes inside a cardboard box with paper fill used to fill the void.
