Description
An outdoor solar sleeve. The solar sleeve has a monocrystalline panel with an aluminium frame and toughened glass glazing. It comes with a 12.8V integral lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery and solar charge controller with infrared sensor. The solar panel output power ranges from 100W to 200W, depending on configurations, and it has a charge time of 6-8 hours and a discharge time of 10-30 hours (using PIR). It has an IP rating of IP66 and an IK rating of IK09. The solar sleeve will be connected to outdoor lighting (not included in this ATaR) and will be used to generate electrical power for the lighting. The solar sleeve comes packaged in a box.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: - General Interpretative Rules (GIR)s: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, Reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Part Two (Goods Classification Table Rules of Interpretation) of the Tariff of the United Kingdom (Reg 3(1)(a)); and b. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b)). GIR 1 - has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8501 - Electric motors and generators (excluding generating sets). GIR 5 (b) - has been used to identify the type of packaging. GIR 6 - has been used to classify the goods to subheading level 850172 - Photovoltaic dc generators, Of an output exceeding 50 w. Also classified in accordance with: Harmonized System Explanatory Notes (HSEN) to heading 8501 - Note (II). Harmonized System Explanatory Notes (HSEN) to Chapter 94 - Exclusion note 1 (f).
