- Description
- An Encapsulated Seal. Comprised of an inner EPDM energizing core and fully encased with an outer layer of fluoroplastic (FEP, PFA, ATEF). Both the inner and outer materials are independently extruded and turned into a seamless encapsulated seal during the manufacturing process. The seals are mainly made up of 60% by volume inner EPDM energiser and 40% by volume outer fluoroplastic encapsulation but can vary depending upon the specific profile. The seals are used in various industrial sealing applications where the application demands a high level of chemical resistance, high temperature resistance or high level of purity such as filter cartridges, pumps, and AODD Manway seals. They are available in a range of sizes, starting from 1.5mm diameter up to 31.7mm diameter and in various shapes including round, rectangular, and square.
