- A shim is a small c shaped metal disc that goes between the lens and the camera to alter the distance . The precision cut shims allow the mount to pass electronic information from camera to lens mount. Shim kit includes 9 shims of various sizes ranging from 0.025- 0.50 and a abufle tool.
