- Description
- DNA is a double-stranded molecule forming a double helix. Each strand is made up of nucleotides, which include a phosphate group, a sugar molecule (deoxyribose), and one of four nitrogenous bases: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine ©, and guanine (G). RNA is typically single-stranded and shorter than DNA. It consists of nucleotides that include a phosphate group, a sugar molecule (ribose), and one of four nitrogenous bases: adenine (A), uracil (U), cytosine ©, and guanine (G) Human RNA/DNA samples used for diagnostic testing, clinical and laboratory research. Usually packaged in sample collection tubes and in some occasions a reagent may be used to preserve RNA/DNA samples. DNA Samples: Typically collected from blood, saliva, or tissue samples. RNA Samples: Often collected from blood or tissue samples, and require careful handling to prevent degradation. There is also a buffer solution and possibly some fragments of human tissue and blood present.
