Description
Antenna motors that actuate the motion of the antenna. These antenna motors are an integral part of a satellite telecommunications system which are used for communications over commercial frequency satellites. The system provides voice and data connectivity to radio frequency (RF) networks. The motor’s function within the system is to ensure antennas can be steered to a specific position to align with the satellite, compensating for any disturbances or changes in position, and thus allowing for optimal performance. The antenna motors operate on a closed-loop system that uses feedback to achieve precise control of position, speed, and torque. These motors are a component within the motion control sub system, and interface with an antenna gearbox such that rotation of the motor shaft rotates the antenna axis. They connect back to a motor drive/inverter. An electronic control unit processes input commands and sends signals to the servo motor to achieve the desired position. The motors in question are AC, they are three phase and for this motor in question has an output of KW 5.5. For shipment, the units are packaged individually in purpose designed cardboard carton.
