- Description
- This product is a frequency diplexer, it is a passive radiofrequency device that is used to combine or separate signals based on frequency. It ensures efficient signal management in satellite communication systems. Diplexers have two input channels (with sufficient frequency separation between the channels to allow for filter roll off) and are generally used in multiplexer chains to combine signals at different frequencies into one antenna. It works by combining two input channels into a single output with minimal insertion loss. This method is typically used with narrow-band devices. Due to the products rejection requirements, a wide guard band is necessary. Typically, multiple diplexers are issued to group odd and even transponder channels, which are then combined using a hybrid coupler into a single output. By doing this it results in power efficiency below 50% due to the inherent hybrid coupler loss, which can limit flexibility if future radiofrequency system modification is required.
