Description
safety depth switch A safety depth switch is for an underwater telephone onboard a submarine. The safety depth switch is made from multiple components, including: cast aluminium housing, internal brass pressure switch, terminal blocks and wiring. The product switches the underwater telephone on/off when the submarine is at a set depth. The Safety Depth Switch is mounted in a part of the submarine that free-floods with sea water. An opening on the side of the case allows the seawater to exert a force on the internal pressure switch. As the submarine dives, the pressure increases and at a set depth the internal pressure switch will activate and turn on the circuit for the underwater telephone. The safety depth switch operates with a voltage of 24V. It is normally transported in it’s own wooden crate.
