- Description
- Panel consisting of silicon aerogel with heat treated mineral fibres. Aerogels are used for insulation due to their low density and thermal insulating properties. Aerogel is composed of amorphous silica, a non-crystalline form of silicon dioxide. Panels are presented in wrapped roll of approximate 575 square foot.

- Justification
- Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. General Interpretative Rules (GIR)s: GIR 1 has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 6806 - Slag-wool, rock-wool and similar mineral wools; exfoliated vermiculite, expanded clays, foamed slag and similar expanded mineral materials; mixtures and articles of heat-insulating, sound-insulating or sound-absorbing mineral materials, other than those of heading 6811 or 6812 or of chapter 69 GIR 5B has been used to identify the type of packaging.
