- Description
- Galvanised steel crossbearers that are used to create the platform upon which the commercial vehicle body assembly rests. They are normally spaced 610mm apart to provide support and fixing points for the flooring to be installed above. The floor is mechanically fixed to the crossbearer. Also various other items are mechanically fastened to the crossbearers including the vehicle siderave and drop legs to secure lateral protection systems. The crossbearer is usually drilled and sometimes laser cut to provide fixing points for these attachments and are mechanically fastened either by bolts or by mounting brackets to 2 channels running the length of the vehicle chassis. They can be folded or rolled construction and incorporate a return lip to increase the strength of the section. 2 sizes and can be of various lengths depending on the overall width of the vehicle. Sold in packs of 50 and secured by steel bands. Smaller amounts are secured by nylon bands.
