- Description
- An MCDU (Multifunction Control and Display Unit). This is a critical interface device in modern aircraft, used by pilots to interact with the Flight Management System (FMS). The MCDU allows pilots to input and modify flight plans, and access navigation data. It also enables the pilot to complete performance calculations (e.g., fuel, speed, altitude), and monitor aircraft systems. It consists of the following: Display Screen which shows flight data, route information, and system messages. Keypad which is used to enter waypoints, speeds, altitudes, and other flight parameters. Line Select Keys (LSKs) which are buttons next to the screen for selecting and modifying data fields.
