- Description
- The sequencer assembly is an electronic device that forms part of a military aircraft ejection seat. The sequencer is specially designed solely for this purpose. The sequencer uses environmental information from various sensors on the ejection seat (such as air speed and air pressure) to manage the timing and order of events in the ejection sequence. The sequencer is powered by a separate thermal battery (not part of the assembly) which is activated as part of the ejection initiation. The sequencer electronics are housed within a sealed aluminium box with external cable connectors. At the right time, as determined by the sequencer, electrical signals from the sequencer pass through cables (not part of the assembly) to electrically initiated charges (squibs). The squibs are used to initiate explosive cartridges, which are used to generate the high-pressure gas needed to operate various devices on the seat.
