- Description
- The Antenna Hub Floor Assembly is a structural flooring solution designed for use within a satellite communication ground system. It consists of an open-grid panel manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), a durable composite material made by molding fiberglass rovings with a thermosetting resin. This is a one-piece grating panel that is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic in demanding environments. The top surface of the GRP grating features an anti-slip finish, providing excellent traction and slip resistance, particularly in areas exposed to moisture or outdoor conditions. This makes it suitable for pedestrian access in technical installations. The floor assembly is supported by fixed bracketry designed to secure the GRP panels in place. It is intended for permanent installation and provides a stable, elevated walking surface that allows access to various satellite communication equipment housed in the hub equipment rack, which is located at the rear of the antenna. This configuration facilitates maintenance and inspection of critical communication components while maintaining safety and accessibility standards. An important functional feature of the assembly is the integration of a fixed brass earth bar, which is mounted directly onto the GRP flooring. This earth bar serves as a common grounding point for all hub equipment, ensuring electrical safety. The use of brass, a conductive copper-zinc alloy, ensures reliable and corrosion-resistant performance in outdoor or semi-enclosed environments. The overall assembly is a non-electrical structural component, but it plays a vital role in supporting and grounding electrical and RF equipment within the satellite ground station infrastructure. The items are assembled and carefully packed in protective wrapping for shipment.
