- Description
- The product is an EPOS (Exact Positioning Operating System) Reference Station is used to provide precise positioning data for robotic lawn mowers. This enables the mowers to operate within virtual boundaries, eliminating the need for physical boundary wires. The EPOS Reference Station is made from various electronic components, including GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receivers, antennas, and communication modules. It also includes a power supply unit and low voltage cables. The manufacturing process involves assembling the electronic components onto a printed circuit board (PCB), encasing the assembly in a protective housing, and adding connectors for power and communication. The units are tested by suppliers to ensure they meet Husqvarna's quality standards before shipping. The device (EPN) handles the RTK-GNSS signals between the robotic lawn mowers and the satellites. It provides correction data to the mowers, allowing them to determine their precise position and operate within the defined virtual boundaries. The system requires a constant 868 MHz radio connection to transfer correction data to the mowers. The EPOS Reference Station is typically packaged in a protective box to prevent damage during transportation. Additional packaging materials such as foam or bubble wrap are used to secure the unit.
