Description
A fedora hat. The hat was worn by the Indiana Jones character played by Harrison Ford in the classic film Raiders of the Lost Ark. The hat was created by Herbert Johnson Hat Company and was designed by costume designer Deborah Nadoolman, who worked with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. The hat is made of rabbit felt, with a dark brown ribbon and a leather sweatband. It is imprinted with the Herbert Johnson Hat Company name. The prop was provided new but was distressed to age it to achieve a worn look for filming.

Justification

GIR 6 has been used to classify the goods to subheading level 970510 - Collections and collectors’ pieces of archaeological, ethnographic or historical interest. Ten digit code 9705100048 - Property relating to history, including the history of science and technology and military and social history, to the life of national leaders, thinkers, scientists and artists and to events of national importance; other than more than 200 years old; other than collectors’ pieces of wood and collections and collectors’ items of animal origin.
