- Description
- Anchorage System (for Post Tensioned Concrete). Part of a structure and once in position, remains in that position. Consisting of 3 metal components, the anchorage system is used for gripping and securing steel strands, in post tension concrete structures. The components are: - A cast steel anchor block - A forged steel wedge grip - A cast iron force transfer unit The system works in 3 stages: The force transfer unit is fixed into position during the initial concrete pouring operation. The cast steel anchor block is then fitted to the force transfer unit along with the steel wedge grips. Specialised hydraulic equipment is used to pull steel strands through the force transfer unit and the cast steel anchor block. The steel wedge grips hold onto the steel strands to maintain/hold the tension applied by the specialised hydraulic equipment. Packaged separately: - The force transfer unit and the anchor block are packaged in plywood crates - The wedge grips are packaged in plastic tubs placed in plywood crates
