- Description
- A Thermal Printhead assembly for use in high volume printing systems. It operates by passing a current through it to produce heat, which creates an image on a heat sensitive medium passing the printhead. Individual heating elements are each able to produce a dot, which together produce the image. The base material of the Thermal Printhead is alumina ceramic. Deposited on to this is a layer of glass, some metal layers and protective coverings. The electrical connections to this are routed through a number of driver integrated circuits.
