Description
The product is a Class 1 eye-safe infrared laser sensor designed to detect high-visibility safety apparel that contains retroreflective tape. It is primarily used on mobile industrial equipment, such as forklifts and other vehicles operating in warehouses, factories, and loading areas, to help prevent collisions between machinery and personnel. What it is used for: The sensor detects workers wearing high-visibility clothing fitted with reflective tape. When installed on a forklift or similar vehicle, it provides a detection signal that can trigger an alert or warning system, helping operators avoid accidents in shared workspaces. What it is made from: The main components include: Plastic housing (impact-resistant and weather-sealed) Infrared laser diode (Class 1, eye-safe, IEC 60825 compliant) Photodiode receiver and signal processing PCB Plastic optical lens and electrical connectors Wiring harness and mounting bracket (supplied with the pack) The product contains no moving parts and is RoHS compliant. How it is made: The housing is injection-moulded from durable plastic. The electronic circuit board (PCB) is assembled with the laser, photodiode, and processor components. Optical components are aligned and calibrated during assembly. The unit is sealed and tested for environmental protection and performance. Each sensor undergoes final quality testing and laser safety verification before packaging. How it works: The product emits a modulated infrared laser beam and monitors for reflections from retroreflective tape materials. When a reflective surface (e.g. worker’s vest) is detected within range, the device produces an electrical output signal to the vehicle’s alert or control system. Detection range and sensitivity are configurable via software or interface device. The sensor is powered by a DC supply (typically 12–24 VDC). How it is packaged: Each sensor pack is supplied in a cardboard retail box containing: 1 × Sensor (PN SI-120) 1 × Mounting bracket and screws 1 × Cable harness 1 × User manual Each unit is individually packaged in a fitted cardboard insert to protect the contents during transit. The box is labelled with the product name, serial number, and laser safety information.
