- Description
- A kit consisting of several survival aids, provided to customers with existing ejections seats, for replenishment or replacing kit contents. The aids are stowed within the ejection seat in a container (not part of the kit) that also provides the sitting platform of the seat. This kit is used to maximise survival chances after landing on land or sea and stays attached to the pilot during an ejection. All the items are packaged together. The kit contains the following items: - Personal locator beacon (electronic device to aid location of the user by emergency services) - Life raft and repair kit - Distress flare/smoke signal - Sea dye marker - Light sticks - Ration packs - Water packs - Matches and fire-starting kit - Compass - First Aid Kit - Whistle - Pocket knife

- Justification
- Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Part Two (Goods Classification Table Rules of Interpretation) of the Tariff of the United Kingdom (Reg 3(1)(a)); and b. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b)). General Interpretative Rules (GIR)s: GIR1 – has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 9208 – Musical boxes, fairground organs, mechanical street organs, mechanical singing birds, musical saws and other musical instruments not falling within any other heading of this chapter; decoy calls of all kinds; whistles, call horns and other mouth-blown sound signalling instruments. GIR3(c) – has been used as it is considered there is no essential character and the goods have therefore been classified to last in numerical order within the tariff. GIR6 – has been used to classify the goods to subheading level 920890 – Other than musical boxes. Also classified in accordance with: Harmonised System Explanatory Notes (HSENs) Note (B) (2) (ii) to Heading 9208.
