Description
Wind sensor intended for use with wind turbines installed both inland and offshore. Designed for measurement of wind speeds of up to 75 m/sec. Typical installation is usually against a metal bar, the sensor is aligned to the central axis of the turbine to minimise error. Within the unit is a thermostatically controlled heating system which prevents ice build-up, not only on the sensor itself, but also on the metal bar. This prevents blockage of the measurement cavity, reducing turbine downtime during heavy icing events. The hard anodised aluminium body is highly resistant to corrosion, sand, dust, ice and solar radiation. The sensor is sealed to IP66, IP67 and IPX6K standard and inherently compensates for changes in the air’s temperature, pressure and humidity.
