Description
Steel rod with a nominal tensile strength of 1021 N/mm² and a diameter of 5.50mm. A smooth even surface with a circular cross section. For use in the manufacture of bed springs once steel has been cold-drawn. Presented as irregular wound coils.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b) General interpretative rules (GIR)s: GIR 1 - Has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 7227 - Bars and rods, hot-rolled, in irregularly wound coils, of other alloy steel GIR 6 - Has been used to classify the goods to subheading level – 7227 90 other than elsewhere specified in this heading 8 Digit Code 7227 90 10 00 - Containing by weight 0.0008% or more of boron with any other element less than the minimum content referred to in note 1(f) to this chapter Also classified in accordance with: Note 3 to Section XV Notes f and l to Chapter 72 Harmonized System Explanatory Notes (HSENs) to Heading 7227
