- Description
- This product is a motor speed sensor (Sin/Cos encoder) which is specifically designed to suit a specific manufacturer motor, it will not interface with any motor manufacturer product. It is used to detect the direction of rotation and the speed of the motor rotor against the motor stator and feed this information back to the motor controller (separate product). The motor can be used in a variety of applications, not only for motor vehicles. This product is generally sourced as a spare part for a motor, and it is part of the motor assembly when motors are purchased as new. The encoder includes an encapsulated PCB board, rubber, wiring, connector and pins, magnet for pickup from rotor shaft bung. The encoder is procured as a bought‑in component, and full manufacturing details are not available. The central star shaped rubber bung interfaces with the motor rotor and as the motor is driven, the rubber bung spins and the PCB board picks up the magnet identifying the direction and rpm which provides feedback to the motor controller (separate supply) which then allows accurate control of the motor. This part is packaged generally in a plastic bag for protection and packaged to suit quantities purchased.
