- Description
- The Cab Box Pack is an electrical junction and connection box used in conjunction with the companies sensor system. It provides a secure enclosure for terminating and distributing low-voltage electrical connections (not exceeding 1,000V) between the sensor and associated cabling. In larger Material Handling Equipment (MHE), it also supports in-cab alert functionality, enabling signals generated by the sensor system to be transmitted through connected wiring to provide visual or audible alerts to the operator cabin. It does not process or generate alerts itself, but serves as the protected electrical interface enabling those alert signals to be delivered. The Cab Box Pack operates as a passive electrical interface. It does not contain processing electronics or perform computation. Its functions include: Providing a protected point for electrical cable termination and distribution Maintaining insulation and separation between electrical conductors protecting connections from dust, moisture, and mechanical damage enabling transmission of sensor-generated signals to connected systems, including in-cab alert devices in larger MHE applications It serves as the physical and electrical link that allows alert signals from the sensor system to be carried safely to operator warning systems. The junction box is constructed from durable industrial materials, typically including: UV-stabilised ABS or polycarbonate housing (or powder-coated metal enclosure depending on variant) Rubber or silicone gaskets for environmental sealing Brass or copper alloy terminal blocks for electrical connectivity Stainless steel or zinc-coated fasteners and mounting hardware These materials are selected for strength, corrosion resistance, and suitability for outdoor or industrial environments. The enclosure is manufactured using injection moulding (for plastic versions) or sheet metal forming followed by powder coating (for metal versions). Electrical terminals are produced through precision metal stamping and machining processes. The unit is then assembled by integrating the housing, sealing components, and internal terminal systems under controlled production conditions to ensure durability and electrical safety compliance. The product is supplied as a single assembled unit, packaged for protection during transport and storage: Individually boxed in a rigid cardboard carton Outer labelling includes product name, part number for bulk shipments, multiple units are packed into reinforced master cartons on pallets.
