Description
A sensor cable which is used to connect to the companies sensor system and other related system components. It carries low-voltage electrical signals and/or power between the sensor, junction box, and in-cab alert or interface systems in larger MHE (material handling equipment). It's purpose is to provide a reliable, protected electrical connection for signal transmission (including detection event signals and alert outputs). It does not process or interpret data itself. The cable functions as a passive electrical transmission medium. It carries low-voltage power and/or signal data between system components it maintains electrical continuity between the companies sensor, cab box, and in-cab alert systems to ensures signal integrity through shielding (where applicable.) It does not process, modify, or interpret signals It is purely a conduit for electrical communication within the system. The cable is typically made from: Copper or tinned copper multi-core conductors PVC, PE, or PUR insulation jacket (industrial-grade, abrasion resistant) optional shielding layer (aluminium foil or braided copper) for signal integrity rubber or polymer sealing boots/connectors (if pre-terminated) Industrial connector housings (plastic or metal, depending on variant.) The cable is manufactured through: Copper wire drawing and stranding (multi-core formation) extrusion of insulating and outer jacketing materials around conductors shielding application (foil wrap or braided shielding where required) Cutting to length (5m-20m) and termination with industrial connectors (crimping or over-moulding.) With electrical continuity and insulation testing before packaging. The product is typically packaged as: Individually coiled cable assembly or cut-to-length harness.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Part Two (Goods Classification Table Rules of Interpretation) of the Tariff of the United Kingdom (Reg 3(1)(a)); and b. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b)). GIR 1 - Has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8544 - Insulated (including enamelled or anodised) wire, cable (including coaxial cable) and other insulated electric conductors, whether or not fitted with connectors; optical fibre cables, made up of individually sheathed fibres, whether or not assembled with electric conductors or fitted with connectors. GIR 5b - Has been used to identify the type of packaging: Individually coiled cable assembly or cut-to-length harness. GIR 6 - Has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8544 42 - Other electric conductors, for a voltage not exceeding 1 000 v; fitted with connectors. Digit Code: 854442 90 - Other than; Of a kind used for telecommunications. Digit Code: 85444290 90 - Other than; elsewhere specified within this heading. Also Classified in Accordance with: Note 2(a) to Section XVI Harmonized System Explanatory Note (HSENs) to Heading 8544
