Model: RTA‑4B Manufacturer/OEM: Honeywell Type: Airborne radar receiver–transmitter (transceiver) System: Part of the RDR‑4B weather radar system used on aircraft Functional description The unit is a single integrated radar transceiver that: - Generates electromagnetic (RF/microwave) energy for transmission - Receives reflected signals from targets (weather, terrain, windshear) - Processes and demodulates the returned signals for display to the cockpit The RTA‑4B is an airborne radar receiver‑transmitter unit designed for installation in civil aircraft as part of a weather radar system. It is a solid-state radar transceiver that transmits microwave pulses and receives reflected signals from atmospheric targets. The unit processes these signals to enable detection of weather phenomena such as precipitation, turbulence, and windshear, providing situational awareness to the flight crew.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a.
