- Description
- Aircraft terrain awareness / ground proximity warning computer . An airborne Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) computer, designed to provide real‑time terrain awareness and warning functions to aircraft flight crews. The unit processes aircraft position and flight data in conjunction with an internal terrain and obstacle database to generate visual and aural warnings when a potential collision risk with terrain or obstacles is detected. It accepts multiple aircraft inputs including Position (GPS) Altitude Airspeed Attitude / glideslope. Used for Internal terrain and obstacle database. Predictive algorithms Outputs are Aural warnings, and Visual alerts / terrain display Core behaviour: Continuously compares aircraft flight path vs terrain Issues warnings if a conflict is predicted. For use in aeronautical navigation.
