Pietro Chiesa (1892–1948) is recognised as one of the most important figures in the history of twentieth-century Italian decorative arts and glass design. As the artistic force behind Fontana Arte during its formative years, Chiesa was instrumental in transforming glass from a purely decorative medium into a central element of modern interior design.
