- Description
- The Skid Plate is a replaceable protective component designed for use on a robotic lawn mower. It is mounted on the underside of the machine and serves to protect the mower's chassis and critical internal components from wear, impacts, and abrasion encountered during normal operation. Its primary functions includes: Protecting the underside of the robotic mower from contact with the ground. Shielding critical components from stones, debris, roots, and uneven terrain. Reducing wear and damage caused by continuous operation in outdoor environments. Helping maintain the structural integrity and operational reliability of the mower. Acting as a sacrificial wear component that can be replaced during maintenance. The skid plate typically consists of: Formed Aluminium or other wear-resistant metal sheet. Mounting holes and fixing features for attachment to the mower chassis. Corrosion-resistant material suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure and reinforced areas designed to withstand abrasion and impact during use. The skid plate is installed on the underside of the robotic mower. During operation, it reduces the load on a cutting motor by rotating independently from the cutting disk thereby reducing frictional drag produced by uncut grass. It absorbs abrasion and minor impacts caused by rough terrain and obstacles. The smooth surface allows the mower to move freely while minimizing damage to the machine structure. When worn, the skid plate can be replaced without replacing the main mower body. Each skid plate is: Individually packed to prevent scratching and corrosion during transport. Protected using plastic wrapping or protective separators. Packed in cartons suitable for spare parts distribution. Labelled with the part number, description, and traceability information.
