- Description
- A 205ID MIU MANDREL of Cast Iron Composition. The materials are Grade ISO 1083 / JS / 450-10. Ductile iron, is a high-performance cast material in which graphite exists in the form of spherical nodules. It is a ferritic-matrix ductile iron characterized by a minimum tensile strength of 450 MPa, elongation of 10%, and good impact toughness. A blend of pig iron, steel scrap, and returns in controlled ratios is melted in induction furnaces (medium-frequency) or cupolas at ~1500 1550°C. Magnesium-bearing alloys are introduced via ladle treatment. Pouring is performed at 1300 1400°C with controlled gating to minimize turbulence and oxidation. Proper riser design and use of chills ensure directional solidification and minimize shrinkage defects. Cleaned by using a shot blasting machine. For use in the offshore energy industry for pipeline protection. Insert is over moulded within a polymer product to provide asset protection, impact resistance and stabilization. Usually packed in crates.
