- Description
- A compact desktop vice designed to securely hold small, delicate or awkwardly shaped objects during manual work operations. The vice opening distance is controlled by an incorporated adjustable, hand turned, lead screw mechanism which allows the six reversible jaws to articulate around pivot points to fit precisely around the work objects. This applies gentle pressure to securely and safely hold the work objects in place. Non-powered with no electronics, battery, motor, pneumatic system or hydraulic system. Intended to support precision tasks such as: Jewellery and watchmaking/repairs, electronics, soldering and PCB assembly, model making and miniature painting, engraving, filing and light machining and repairing small mechanical parts. Manufactured from solid metal billets that are CNC-machined to their final shape, rather than cast. Each component is precision-machined to high tolerances and then lapped to its corresponding components to allow for high accuracy and precision. Materials: Hardened martensitic stainless steel (grade 420C hardened to HRC48-55), Stainless steel (grade 316), Hard anodised aluminium (7055-T651 aerospace grade), High Tensile Brass (HTB1), Class 10.9 bolts (grade 304 stainless steel), Silicone rubber (engineering grade shore 60A). Packaged in parts (base and vice jaws), that have endured rigorous QC checks, for assembly by the consumer, with an information leaflet, assembly and usage instructions, 2 Allen keys and spare grub screws.
