Description: A hand-made scale model of a 1938 Alfa Romeo. This model is a 1:15 scale of the 2.9 8c Mille Miglia and crafted by Gerald Wingrove. This is a finely detailed scratch-built static model with hinged bonnet revealing engine, constructed from mainly brass, copper and aluminium parts and finished in red livery with wire-spoked wheels shod with rubber tyres. The model measures approx. 28.5cm long and it is displayed in green baize padded plywood storage case with sliding lid, with display base and case. The hand made scale model was based on the original vehicle from 1938 where the Mille Miglia were produced by Alfa Corse racing team for the 1938 Mille Miglia open road event using the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera open bodywork.
