Follow your organisations immediate danger process

What you should do now

Follow your organisations process, this may include:

  • calling 999 on the callers behalf, if the call has ended
  • telling the caller to hang up and call 999

You can save or print a copy of your call notes (opens in new tab).

Support for you

We recognise these calls can be distressing and your wellbeing matters.

Make sure to use your organisation’s support services, which may include:

  • taking time out and speaking to your manager
  • talking in confidence to a Mental Health Advocate
  • contacting an Employee Assistance Programme
  • speaking to a trade union representative
  • contacting HR Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing

If you’ve finished with this guidance you can leave feedback (opens in new tab).
