Description
A conventional optical smoke sensor which utilises the light scatter sensing principle: utilising an orange light-emitting diode (LED) and a photodiode within its sensing chamber. When the smoke enters this chamber, the photo-diode senses increased infra-red light scattered by the smoke particles and the detector then goes into alarm mode. This product comprises a polycarbonate ABS plastic casing containing metal fasteners, screws, and connectors plus a populated printed circuit board (PCB) with the sensing chamber, an insect protection mesh plus a further externally visible Omni View LED all attached (the sensing chamber and the further LED both also being connected to the PCB). The externally visible 360-degree Omni View LED serves only to indicate when the detector is in alarm mode - it forms no part of the sensing function of this detector which is not intended as a visual warning of fire to any persons nearby. The other similar version of this product differs only in its being a "zero ohm" resistance version, rather than the standard 375-ohm resistance of the previous model. In all other respects this product is identical in appearance and functionality. Both versions of this product are compatible only with UL-compliant fire alarm control systems must only be connected via a suitable, UL- compliant detector mounting base. There has been no change to the design, appearance or functionality of this product or its variants. The product is imported specifically for this company and cannot be resold as an "off the shelf" product in general stores or by any non-specialist outlet. This product does not have an integral sounder or recording device. Operating Voltage 12 VDC to 32 VDC, System Voltage 24 VDC and Dimensions φ104 mm x H 33 mm (Detector head only) φ104 mm x H 48 mm (Detector head and Base.) While the item can be sold singly in its own small cardboard box, it is more commonly dispatched in larger cardboard boxes containing 10 or 100 units.
