Description
A set of hand-held instruments designed to behave in the same way as radiation detectors and emitters but do not actually produce or detect radiation. The set consists of emitting devices that generate a radio frequency designed to mimic a radiation source and the detector units that receive the radio signals and processes the information. On the front of each receiver is a control panel and LCD which shows details of the simulation providing information such as readouts in units of Micro-Severts, so as to simulate the detection of radiation. These devices are intended for use in an educational environment such as a classroom or on a training exercise. They cannot be modified or adapted in any way to work as real radiation detectors or emitters. 2 of each device is supplied, the detectors are powered by 2 AA batteries and the emitters by 3 AAA batteries, all are packaged in a purpose-built case with hollowed out padding into which the devices are placed for storage

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a.
