- Description
- The body of the tool is made from AISI 4330 v mod steel with enhanced nickel, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium additions. The bearing sleeve is made from HNBR which is a synthetic polymer commonly used in sealing applications. The Rotating parts of this tool are made from 4145 which is a standard alloy steel. Primarily used in oil & gas wells during the drilling phase to assist with placing the drill string in a tension state and limiting the potential for buckling thus allowing for greater parameter range allowance to optimise drilling performance. Tool range is 4 3/4" to 7" in diameter up to 15' long. Tool comprises of 1 solid piece mandrel and 6 bearing sleeves, HNBR & steel configuration. The tool forms part of the drill string and is rotated from a motor on the surface. The six independent solid bearings rotate on a cam shaft assembly with a predefined skew angle allowing to tool to create a forward traction motion by interacting with the wellbore/formation when normal drilling is taking place. The tool may be placed in a wooden crate or shipping basket depending on what the customer requests for shipping.
