Description
Battery Cap Manufactured from acetal/delrin (enclosure/lid), PVC (grommet), metal (lemo connector, fixings, plates, location pins, spring, switch-guard), electronic components (PCB mounted), Multicore, electrical cable with TPU outer sheath, screened tinned copper conductors (lemo cable), potted with 2-part epoxy resin. The Battery Cap forms part of a telecommunications system which allows in-service government and military radios to operate over commercial L-Band satellites. The system provides voice and data connectivity to radio networks. The telecommunications system comprises of a frequency converter (Applique), an antenna, cabling and a power source connection. The Battery Cap functions as a switched DC power adaptor/distribution unit with “go-no go” indications for power levels, correct connection and radio transmissions. The battery cap works by taking the battery DC (nom. 10.5v) and suppling a monitored/regulated DC (7.7v) to the L-Band Frequency Converter (Applique). The main function of the Battery Cap is to act as a DC – DC converter. The Battery Cap does not contain a battery. Packaged in disposable cardboard box.
