- Description
- AA Battery Holder Enclosure- Body Machined acetal, Seal Synthetic rubber Window Polycarbonate Thumb screws Nylon Cable- IP 68 rated connector PEEK, brass, gold Cable Polyurethane, copper Circuit Boards- Substrate Fibre glass FR 4 AA holders steel, FR 4 Electronics Assorted components. The AA Battery Holder forms part of a telecommunications system which allows in-service government and military radios to operate over commercial L-Band satellites. The system provides voice and data connectivity to radio networks. The telecommunications system comprises of a frequency converter (Applique), an antenna, cabling and a power source connection. The AA Battery Holder provides a rugged, protected battery supply. It uses readily available AA batteries (LR6) as its power source. When loaded with 12 AA batteries, the unit provides a voltage supply for a telecommunications system. The batteries are loaded on to two battery circuit boards. These slide into holder guides inside the enclosure base. To complete the assembly, the lid is located onto the battery boards and the thumb screws tightened. There is no ON-OFF switch. A voltage is permanently available on the output connector. A short cable provides flexibility. When loaded with AA batteries the AA Holder becomes an 18VDC (nom) regulated power supply for the telecommunications system. Voltage regulation within the AA Holder is carried out electronically within its PCB circuitry. The PCB also contains battery monitoring circuitry which, via a push button and an illuminated grid, indicates the available battery power to the user. It also illuminates a separate LED to indicate “power on” when connected to the uPSU. The main function is of a 18VDC (nom) regulated power supply. Packaged in a disposable cardboard box.
