- Description
- A dual optical smoke and heat detector, comprising a polycarbonate (ABS type) circular casing containing a populated PCB with sensors, fasteners, screws and connectors. Using the scattered light sensing principle, the detector uses both infra-red and blue light emitting diodes to provide a more accurate measurement of particles within its sensing chamber. By calculating the ratio of these light sources, which operate at different wavelengths, it can determine the particle size and distinguish between smoke and non-combustion products such as steam or dust. The separate heat sensor utilises two thermistors of low thermal mass and reports an alarm condition when a fixed, pre-set ambient temperature is reached. The detector is used as part of a fire alarm control system and is addressable. The external omni-view 360-degree LED is used to indicate whether the detector is being queried by its control panel or is in alarm mode. The detector has no in-built visual or audio warning signal. Packaged in a cardboard box, singularly or in quantities of 10 or 100.
