Description
A control panel that is used to operate smoke detector test head units. The control panel is mounted onto a wall and receives power from the battery pack. It allows the head unit to be selected and the test started and stopped from buttons on its front face. It also allows functions to be activated or test parameters changes as required. The control panel outer cover is made from ABS and it has two circuit boards with LED display. The packaged product dimensions are 19cm x 17cm x 9cm and it is packaged in a fibreboard carton.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: - General Interpretative Rules (GIR)s: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, Reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Part Two (Goods Classification Table Rules of Interpretation) of the Tariff of the United Kingdom (Reg 3(1)(a)); and b. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b)). GIR 1 - has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8537 - Boards, panels, consoles, desks, cabinets and other bases, equipped with two or more apparatus of heading 8535 or 8536, for electric control or the distribution of electricity, including those incorporating instruments or apparatus of Chapter 90, and numerical control apparatus, other than switching apparatus of heading 8517. GIR 6 - has been used to classify the goods to subheading level 853710 - For a voltage not exceeding 1 000 V. 8-digit code 85371098 - Other than numerical control panels with built-in automatic data-processing machine; Other than elsewhere specified within this heading. Also classified in accordance with: Harmonized System Explanatory Notes (HSEN) to heading 8537.
