Description
The product is a carpet cleaning machine, it is designed for cleaning carpets and floors It is made from various materials including metal and plastic. The machine comprises a number of different components including an electric motor, handle, housing, brushes and 2 tanks, 1 for cleaning solution and the other for wastewater. It functions by applying the surface with cleaning solution, as the user pushes the machine along the surface the brush works by agitating the surface to further apply the solution and loosen trapped dirt which is then vacuumed into the wastewater tank. It also has a ‘dry mode’ function to allow the machine to be used without water. It is powered by 240v and draws 1300 watts. It is partially assembled and needs to be fully assembled before use. Item comes supplied with accessories including cleaning solution, specialised cleaning accessories, tools and instruction manual and shipped in a box.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. GIR 5 (b) has been used to identify normal packaging for transport GIR 6 has been used to classify the goods to sub-heading 8509 80 – Other appliances Also classified in accordance with :- Harmonised Standard Explanatory Notes (HSENs) to heading – 8509 Notes 4(a) and 4(b) to chapter 85
