Description
A data acquisition (DAQ) and motion control card designed for use with an automatic data processing machine. It is mainly a printed circuit board (PCB) that functions as an interface for controlling and monitoring mechanical motion systems. The product is a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) card that does not work independently but is inserted to interconnect to an automatic data processing machine (ADP/computer) allowing the machine to be customised and perform a specific function. The card provides multiple analogue and digital input/output channels, including high-resolution analogue I/O, TTL-level digital signals, incremental encoder inputs, and pulse/direction outputs for controlling servo or stepper motor drives. The motion control card performs real-time processing of position feedback, execution of motion profiles, and generation of control signals for precise actuation of motors and actuators. Also interfaces with external sensors, limit switches, and other control inputs to support closed-loop motion control. Communication with the host system is established through the PCI bus, making it compatible with a wide range of operating systems and control software environments. Through software functions, the following control tasks are possible: Linear, circular, helical, spline and CAD interpolation. The board is suited for applications such as optical component measurement, laser processing machines, tube welding machines, SMD and component mounting machines. This device is used as a modular component within larger automation and control systems.

Justification
Classification has been determined in accordance with the following: For the purposes of determining the commodity codes within which goods most appropriately fall, reg 3 (1) of The Customs Tariff (Establishment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 sets out that the rules of interpretation contained in the following have effect – a. Part Two (Goods Classification Table Rules of Interpretation) of the Tariff of the United Kingdom (Reg 3(1)(a)); and b. Notes to a section or chapter of the Goods Classification Table (Reg 3(1)(b)) General interpretative rules (GIR)s: GIR 1 has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8471 - Automatic data-processing machines and units thereof; magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in coded form and machines for processing such data, not elsewhere specified or included. GIR 6 has been used to classify the goods to sub-heading 847180 - Other units of automatic data-processing machines. Also classified in accordance with: Chapter notes 6 (C) to chapter 84 Harmonised Standard Explanatory Notes (HSENs) notes (B)(1) to Heading 8471
