The tool forms part of the drill string and is rotated from a motor on the surface. The drilling fluid is utilised along with a shear pin mechanism via ball or flow only to activate the cutter blocks that encompass diamond inserts. Once activated the tool can then drill a larger hole size. The tool may be placed in a wooden crate or shipping basket depending on what the customer requests for shipping.
