The encoder includes an encapsulated PCB board, rubber, wiring, connector and pins, magnet for pickup from rotor shaft bung. The central star shaped rubber bung interfaces with the motor rotor and as the motor is driven, the rubber bung spins and the PCB board picks up the magnet identifying the direction and rpm which provides feedback to the motor controller (separate supply) which then allows accurate control of the motor.
