The end-fittings and hose-length is specially designed for the application. When the ejection sequence begins, an explosive cartridge releases high-pressure gas, which is used to trigger devices during the ejection process. High-pressure gas is passed through the flexible hose from the seat to the canopy. The high-pressure gas triggers the ignition of detonation cord to shatter the aircraft canopy above the pilot’s head, clearing the path for ejection. The hoses are flexible to enable the aircraft canopy to be opened and closed without damaging or disconnecting the hoses.
