The plate is controlled by an indoor control panel through interconnecting control cable. In a redundant block down or block up converter system, a similar approach is taken. An indoor redundancy controller controls an outdoor switch box. In an N+1 configuration, there are several primary units (e.g., multiple LNAs, BDCs, or BUCs), and one backup unit. If any primary unit fails, the backup unit can replace the failed component.
